Šmucika Beauty: Our love for all things beauty opened doors to new posibilities

For a few years we have been discussing about our own salon which will encompass all of our talents into one beauty space. It took time to develop, an idea which we dreamed about slowly started becoming a reality. We wanted to offer something new to a vast comunity of people in Kraljevec, a place where we always seemed to return.

Our team is made of two passionate individuals - mom and daughter - and we both truly enjoy working in the beauty industry, making every client feel and look their best!

How did Šmucika Beauty become what it is today?

Embarking on the exciting journey of starting a beauty salon was a venture that blended creativity, passion, and entrepreneurial spirit. Opening the doors to a beauty sanctuary involved meticulous planning, from creating an appealing and accessible location to curating a range of services that cater to diverse clientele. The goal for our beauty salon was creating a warm and inviting atmosphere where clients feel pampered and rejuvenated. Choosing a different approach and focusing on quality was crucial for providing top-notch services and building a loyal customer base. Leveraging modern marketing strategies, such as social media and promotions, helped in establishing an online presence and attracting attention in the competitive beauty industry.

Why 'Šmucika'?

The name has quite a history, it's as simple as a nickname but also has a deeper meaning. When one of us was quite young - the daughter of the duo - the mom came up with a nickname - Šmucika. The word actually stems from the German 'schmutz' which literally means 'dirt', however, we completely turned it around and made it somehow cute. Looking back, both of us were very neat, well dressed, decent - nothing that would ever associate with the word Šmucika. Somehow, the nickname was stuck throughout a healthy and happy childhood of a cubby little blond girl. Now when we think about it, Šmucika has such a deep meaning, because it represents more than just our business. It's part of our relationship for the past 26 years and beautifly shows our bond and love - for each other as well as our love for all things beauty.

The venture that changed our mindset

Opening Šmucika Beauty was not simple, to say the least. It took time, PATIENCE, careful planning, investing - it even included some rough work like putting wallpaper and smoothing down walls - which we are quite proud of in the end. We fully participated in creating a beauty space that we love to spend time in, as well as our clients. The goal was to create a warm, inviting space that excudes cleanliness and professional, yet friendly atmosphere. As far as deciding to open Šmucika Beauty - that was a step outside our comfort zone, where people often say - is where growth happens. It is excting, overwhelming, stressful and more than anything fulfilling. Being in the beauty industry for so long, keeping up with trends, always educating ourselves and improving our skills, Šmucika Beauty seemed like a good step forward.

What can our clients expect at Šmucika Beauty salon?

From the moment you step into our little beauty oasis, the scent of warm candle and fresh blossoms fills the air. Our cozy atmosphere combined with the perfect cup of coffee and a beauty magazine will make your time at our waiting room feel pleasant. Our treatments will be explainted in detail, so you are equiped with necessary knowledge, especially for those more permanent ones. You will recieve aftercare instructions, product recommendations, as well as at home treatments you can do in between your visits to Šmucika Beauty. From day one, we will offer various services which we hope to expand in the future.

How did we choose the location for Šmucika Beauty?

Opening a new beauty salon requires a thoughtful process, especially when it comes to the location. In the center of Kupinečki Kraljevec, we wanted to offer the local community something out of the ordinary, as well as something that this village desperately needs. It's a picturesque village 10km away from the city, and unfortunatelly, doesn't offer much to its residents. This is where Šmucika Beauty comes in and transforms the scene. We are located in Školska ulica, some 200 meters from the main road. As you enter our street, you'lll see a blush pink sign for our beauty salon right at our main gate. We have secured plenty of parking spaces, so you don't have to worry about that! Our clients can also come by foot, once they get through the main gate, walk downhill a few steps and after a sharp right turn - there we are. Šmucika Beauty awaits!

What separates Šmucika Beauty from its competitors?

Firstly, our story is quite different - it's not everyday you meet a mom and daughter opening a beauty salon together. We are both beauty enthusiast but come from different beauty backgrounds. One of us is more oriented towards facial treatments, preparative cosmetics, working with tools and appliances aimed towards anti-ageing. All of the mentioned required learning, pracitce, work on clients, educations - which are a great investment in yourself as well as your work. The other member of the duo is more focused on makeup application, creating content, permanent makeup and brow design. Both of us are very detail oriented, meticulous and dedicated. That combined with continuos learning and evolving our skills is what makes Šmucika different. Secondly, we opened Šmucika Beauty with a goal to offer our clients something new, which will slowly unravel as we introduce some very special treatments that are very unique. Stay tuned!
